Welcome to the KIS Literacy Depot

My name is Beverly Massey, and I am the Literacy Specialist here at KIS.  The reading intervention program that I use is "Soar to Success".  Specifically made for  small group instruction, Soar to Success is designed to keep struggling readers from falling through the cracks and to put students who are preforming below grade level back on track.   It is a componet of the Houghton Mifflin Reading Series, our School District's adopted text.  Please feel free to browse the website for strategies, resources, tips and suggestions that will assist you in helping your child develop into a strong, fluent reader.
